West Coast Strengthening the Roots Convergence this weekend!

Hey folks!

These last couple of weeks have been full of excitement & hard work, and now we're so close to coming together in beautiful Santa Cruz. I can hardly believe it-- I remember last year so well. Ah, how so much has happened in California, in our nation and in the world! We are living in such an interesting and opportune moment, and I'm so glad I get to share it with folks like you all.

In the midst of all the preparation, I've been trying to think about how to ground myself for the work this weekend: what are the ideas that anchor me in the work that I do? what inspires me? how can I be a good listener & a good communicator? what kinds of dialogue do I want to foster? how can I support others in their work and their goals? what perspectives and ideas am I not familiar with and want to learn about? who will be and not be present at this convergence, and why?

These are just some things on my mind: what are you thinking about as you head into the end of the week and the weekend? Have any goals or objectives for this year's convergence? What about if you're not coming--what would you ask of the rest of us to do in that space to support your work? If you have something you'd like to share, feel free to send it out over the listserv (westcoast@usft.org)-- I'd love to hear what you think, even if it's just one word about how you're feeling in the movement right now.

I'm looking forward to this weekend and I hope to see you in Santa Cruz.

Rock on,

Alex
